- The convenience and personal touch of a community hospital are combined with the technology and expertise of a world-class teaching hospital.
- The Society of Thoracic Surgeons has designated Rush’s thoracic surgery program as a three-star program for lobectomy, the most common operation performed to remove lung cancers. It is the society’s highest rating and is bestowed only on the top five percent of thoracic surgery programs in the U.S.
- We offer the most advanced surgical techniques, including minimally invasive approaches such as video-assisted thoracoscopy (VATS). Rush thoracic surgeons have performed more VATS lobectomies than any other hospital in Illinois — and because of their expertise and skill with VATS, they are able to use this approach for 74 percent of the lobectomies they perform for stage I lung cancer.
- You’ll have access to Rush University Medical Center research aimed at understanding the mechanisms of disease and the most effective surgical approaches to treating a wide range of conditions. Rush is also leading the way in efforts to develop new lung cancer screening tests to catch these aggressive cancers in the earliest — most treatable — stages.
As we begin to reopen Rush Oak Park Hospital for elective procedures and in-person care, we are putting your safety first. For information about COVID-19, see the latest updates. Rush accepts donations to support our response effort, staff, and patients and families.
